1319 Newton Street - The Meadows Area - Key West

1319 Newton Street - Key West

If you are looking for a Sweet Key West Cottage, may I suggest that you schedule a showing of 1319 Newton Street which is located in the Meadows Area of Key West. The listing broker describes this property thus:
"This charming 2/2 historic home is in pristine condition. Located in the Meadows area of old town it is picture perfect with a white picket fence, a dreamy front porch and orchids hanging in the palm trees. It offers a spacious living/dining room with custom built-ins and beautiful polished Dade co. pine floors. The kitchen adjoins a home office and opens to the awning covered deck and outdoor dining area where steps lead to a whirlpool spa. There is a lovely guest bedroom and bath on the first floor. The entire upstairs is the large master suite complete with an Onyx tiled master bath, walk-in closet, wet bar, laundry + tons of storage space. Quality Kohler plumbing fixtures throughout, Wolf range and Bosch Washer and Dryer set."

As you prepare to enter the yard you immediately sense that this house is something "special". Everything about the front is so clean and understated yet picturesque and inviting. The combined living room and dining area is located just to the right of the formal entryway. Your eyes dart from location to location to take in the architectural features including the nearly pristine painted Dade County Pine walls and ceiling set off by the tiled floors; the historic windows that are so old that gravity is causing the glass to ripple; the custom woodwork includes the whimsical breakfront in the dining room that incorporates slats from old shutters integrated into the cabinet. The high ceilings and and crown moldings give these rooms a feeling of space, volume and refinement.

Midpoint between the living area and kitchen you will find the guest bedroom and bath. These rooms, like everything about this house, are just precious. Upstairs you will find a spacious master suite which runs the length of the house. Lots of closet space and custom built-ins. There is even a private rooftop sundeck at the rear where you can watch the Key West sunset every night - forever.

Gary Thomas in a Nutshell

My photo
Key West, Florida, United States
I first read about Key West in a magazine called "After Dark" sometime in the mid 1970's. But it wasn't until March 1984 that I made my first visit to the island that would become my home. I had two weeks for a vacation and reserved a room at Colours Guesthouse (now Marrero's Guest House) for one week. I thought that if I didn't like Key West, I could always go back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale for the rest of my trip. But after a couple of days in Key West, that was no longer a consideration. But when I wanted to extend my stay for the extra week I found there was no room at the inn. The guesthouse owner did find me a room at LaTeDa, the infamous guesthouse/restaurant. That's a story I'll write another day. But those two weeks in Key West gave me the realization that I had found Paradise. Key West has been my home since 1993 and my only regret is that it took me so long to get here. I am a full time Realtor at Preferred Properties CRI. Let me help you find your new home or business in Paradise. Living in Paradise is not a slogan, it's a way of life.
