1106 Pearl Street - Key West

1106 Pearl Street - Key West, Florida

Are you looking for a small investment property that you could turn into a retirement place in a few years? If so, you might want to consider the new legal duplex just listed at 1106 Pearl Street near Old Town Key West. This property is located one half block south of Bayview Park where a small Christmas village with miniature Conch Houses and Santa's Workshop spontaneously appeared after Thanksgiving.

Christmas Town at Bayview Park in Key West

The listing Realtor describes this duplex this way:
"This sweet duplex offers a 2/1 and a 1/1 plus den. It makes a great rental property but would also work well for an owner/occupier who wants rental income. Each unit has it's own yard space and privacy. Convenient location near HOB school and Bayview Park."
I dug into the shoe box and found an old photo of 1106 Pear Street which is shown above. According to the photo, 1106 Pearl Street was actually built in 1906. Compare that to the way the house looks in December 2011 with all the Key West foliage in front.

A new owner could clean up a lot of the palms and maybe brick that driveway and perhaps add a white picket fence. The property is presently a legal duplex. Both units have long term tenants who have been in residence for several years. The house itself has 1252 sq ft of living space and sits on a 40' x 90' (3668 sq ft) lot. The asking price is just $435,000. CLICK HERE to view the Key West Association of Realtors mls data sheet on this property.

Gary Thomas in a Nutshell

My photo
Key West, Florida, United States
I first read about Key West in a magazine called "After Dark" sometime in the mid 1970's. But it wasn't until March 1984 that I made my first visit to the island that would become my home. I had two weeks for a vacation and reserved a room at Colours Guesthouse (now Marrero's Guest House) for one week. I thought that if I didn't like Key West, I could always go back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale for the rest of my trip. But after a couple of days in Key West, that was no longer a consideration. But when I wanted to extend my stay for the extra week I found there was no room at the inn. The guesthouse owner did find me a room at LaTeDa, the infamous guesthouse/restaurant. That's a story I'll write another day. But those two weeks in Key West gave me the realization that I had found Paradise. Key West has been my home since 1993 and my only regret is that it took me so long to get here. I am a full time Realtor at Preferred Properties CRI. Let me help you find your new home or business in Paradise. Living in Paradise is not a slogan, it's a way of life.
