6 Havana Lane - Old Town - Key West

6 Havana Lane - Old Town - Key West

Just listed, but not by me, 6 Havana Lane in Old Town Key West. This is a really sweet three bedroom plus two bath home with a beautiful pool surrounded by tropical foliage. It is in move-in condition and it is priced to sell quickly at just $625,000. Robin Van Mater (At Home in Key West) is the listing Realtor describes the property:

"Relax in comfort and privacy in this lovely Conch Style home with three off street parking spaces. From the moment you walk into this home pride of ownership shows throughout. Immaculate and meticulously maintained from top to bottom, this property is in move-in condition. The first floor has a gracious living room and open floor plan. One first floor bedroom has French doors opening to a lush garden area. Another bedroom, with a separate entrance, is situated on the second floor, making it ideal for those out of town guest or relatives. Enjoy breakfast or cocktails sitting around the heated pool. All within walking distance to world famous Duval Street."
Dining room can also be used as a third bedroom - note closet to the right rear

Master bedroom with vaulted ceiling and French doors that open to the garden

The main floor has a very informal and welcoming feel which works perfectly for our laid back Key West lifestyle. The living room and kitchen share a big open space. The master bedroom with a tall vaulted ceiling and French doors that open to the lush garden is located at the rear. A second bedroom is located on this level. The current owners use that space as a dining room. (Que Serra Serra.) Upstairs you will find another bedroom and bath. That room has treetop views looking down to the garden. It is very private! Every thing on the inside shines like it was just painted. Every detail is crisp and clean.

The outside is equally charming. The kidney shaped pool is perfectly situated to get great sun exposure. The garden is lush but not overdone nor overgrown. The surrounding homes almost look like they were put in place by a scenic director in a movie. It's hard not to fall in love with a setting this enchanting. Enchanted garden area

6 Havana Lane is located a half block north of Truman Avenue and one block west of White Street. CLICK GOOGLE MAP for an aerial view of the area. The property is close to commercial activity for sure, but is is just as close to other very laid back retreats that are actively rented as vacation rentals or used as full time residences. This home was also previously used as a vacation rental and could easily be used that way by a new owner. This home is offered at $625,000 and in my opinion it is a bargain. I think the sales price reflects the challenge of the location. A smart buyer will look at the house and "I accept the challenge". A similar property located in the heart of Old Town will likely cost you about $300,000 more. CLICK HERE to view a slide show of photos I recently took of this property.

Gary Thomas in a Nutshell

My photo
Key West, Florida, United States
I first read about Key West in a magazine called "After Dark" sometime in the mid 1970's. But it wasn't until March 1984 that I made my first visit to the island that would become my home. I had two weeks for a vacation and reserved a room at Colours Guesthouse (now Marrero's Guest House) for one week. I thought that if I didn't like Key West, I could always go back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale for the rest of my trip. But after a couple of days in Key West, that was no longer a consideration. But when I wanted to extend my stay for the extra week I found there was no room at the inn. The guesthouse owner did find me a room at LaTeDa, the infamous guesthouse/restaurant. That's a story I'll write another day. But those two weeks in Key West gave me the realization that I had found Paradise. Key West has been my home since 1993 and my only regret is that it took me so long to get here. I am a full time Realtor at Preferred Properties CRI. Let me help you find your new home or business in Paradise. Living in Paradise is not a slogan, it's a way of life.
