407-409 Petronia Street - Short Sale - Key West

What could be more fun than to tell your family and friends that you own a place located next door to Better Than Sex in Old Town Key West? If you buy the Short Sale listing at 407-409 Petronia Street, you could do just that.

409 Petronia Street - Old Town - Key West

The Conch Cottage is just 761 sq ft of living space which includes two bedrooms and one bath. The living area and kitchen are one large room which opens out to the deck and pool beyond. The entire cottage has vaulted ceilings reaching 13 feet. The interior spaces are open and seem larger than the square footage might suggest. The front of the property has a gated white picket fence. The front is used for off street parking which is a rarity in this particular area.

The rear of the property is quite unlike almost any property I have seen in Old Town. A huge sunny pool dominates the space. But that's not the reason the rear is so impressive: it is the size of the rear and the potential it might offer. The listing shows the lot size as 6,229 sq ft, a considerable portion of which extends on the rear side of the Better Than Sex parcel. Most, but not all, of the rear grounds are covered with brick pavers. The balance of the grounds are landscaped with tropical foliage.

Just fyi, I think "Better Than Sex" is moving to Truman Avenue ... a buyer would definitely want to know what's going in next door. Amazing back yard.

Gary Thomas in a Nutshell

My photo
Key West, Florida, United States
I first read about Key West in a magazine called "After Dark" sometime in the mid 1970's. But it wasn't until March 1984 that I made my first visit to the island that would become my home. I had two weeks for a vacation and reserved a room at Colours Guesthouse (now Marrero's Guest House) for one week. I thought that if I didn't like Key West, I could always go back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale for the rest of my trip. But after a couple of days in Key West, that was no longer a consideration. But when I wanted to extend my stay for the extra week I found there was no room at the inn. The guesthouse owner did find me a room at LaTeDa, the infamous guesthouse/restaurant. That's a story I'll write another day. But those two weeks in Key West gave me the realization that I had found Paradise. Key West has been my home since 1993 and my only regret is that it took me so long to get here. I am a full time Realtor at Preferred Properties CRI. Let me help you find your new home or business in Paradise. Living in Paradise is not a slogan, it's a way of life.
