920 Terry Lane ` Old Town ` Key West

920 Terry Lane - Old Town - Key West

920 Terry Lane in Old Town Key West sits opposite the foot of the Historic Key West Lighthouse. I doubt that the view from 920 Terry Lane will change within the lifetime of anyone reading this blog. And that ought to mean long term neighborhood stability for any buyer of this property.

The listing Realtor describes 920 Terry Lane this way:
"A Million Dollar House with a Million Dollar view in one of the best locations of Old Town Key West. Just 1 block from the Hemingway House and 2 blocks from Duval,is this Historic three bedroom 3 bath home with a cocktail pool and off street parking. No expense was spared in this renovation. On the first level there are 2 bedrooms, one of which can be used as a master, vaulted ceilings, Brazilian Hardwood flooring, and a great open living/dining area. The kitchen has glazed maple cabinetry with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, large pantry with washer and dryer. Down a few steps is a great family room which opens to the pool. The master suite on the second level is the entire second floor with fabulous lighthouse views."
There 'stays' the neighborhood! This historic landmark isn't going away

Great room

Large open kitchen towards the rear

The old house with an incredible location has been updated and expanded to meet the needs of modern day living. Gone are the small one-purpose rooms. Instead, the first floor has an open great room with soaring ceiling. The kitchen is a big open area with rich custom wood cabinets and large windows that let sun shine in to brighten the space. Off to the rear and down a step is the family room with a set of French doors that open out to the small garden and pool. Two large bedrooms complete the main floor. As the listing Realtor points out, one could use the down stairs bedroom as the master suite. Potential older buyers need to consider options like that. As we get older, stairs can become more challenging.

Great room

920 Terry Lane has 1807 sq ft of living space and sits on a 41'x79' (3212) sq ft lot. The living space is nicely divided by room function. The main living area provides access to the bedrooms on the main level. The front bedroom could easily become a master suite. The kitchen area double functions as a core living area and as access to the stairway to the second floor where the master bedroom is located  and also to the lower level family room and access to the pool.CLICK HERE to view the Key West Association of Realtors mls datasheet and to view listing photos on this property.

Note to readers: I deleted a very negative comment someone made about this property. I have been criticized for allowing negative comments and I cannot allow that to happen. I will write more about this in the future. For now, please keep your negative remarks to yourself.

Hi Gary. I hope you are still going to allow all constructive comments. Assuming that the comments reflect accurate information. I think most serious sellers really want honest feed back from prospective buyers, both positive and negative. Your blog provides another avenue for valuable feedback. In the past I think you have done a great job in responding to comments to keep the blog as honest and accurate as possible. If there are sellers and agents who want to control the blog, perhaps you should not include their properties as a service to your audience. Thank you again for your great blog.

Dear Readers, I will write a more detailed statement about some recent Code of Ethics changes that purport to hold me liable for comments others write about properties that I write about. I must have the permission of the listing agent to write about his or her listing. I do this on a regular basis.

One agent recently asked me to remove a blog post because negative comments were made about that agent's listing. The property owner was very upset. The agent lost the listing. I was told I could never write about that agent's listings in the future.

I am responsible for what I write and what I say. If some reader catches me in an error and advises me of my error, I welcome that and try to correct the error.

I am frustrated that the National Association of Realtors feels they can control what I can say and write and that by fiat they can prevent non-agents from expressing their feelings. I read the rules to mean that I must control what readers write or I can be subject to an ethics violation or or more.

Readers can comment all they want but they can't say negative things about a particular house. And by extension, they cannot redline a neighborhood.

Censorship is what its called. Top bad -- there are several prime real estate blog sites on web that review celebrity/ entertainment / multi million dollar listings in a snarky tongue in cheek voice that encourages witty posts from their readers. They are insightful and humorous and provide great critiques without fear of legal ramifications. Why do you not have the same? Instead we only will get the generic white wash from posters and not their opinions.
