Just listed by Preferred Properties, that's where I work but this is not my listing, 906 Johnson Street in the Casa Marina Area of Key West. The listing Realtor describes the property as:

 Grand would be an appropriate modifier as this home is grand in size, design, and prominence on a block of equally important large homes. As is the case of many homes in the Casa Marina Area, this home sits behind a tall privacy fence which gives the property a very real sense of privacy.  Upon entering the property you are taken by the quite large front entry flanked by the alluring pool to the east and the garden to the west. Brick paths wrap around the house which lead to the various cottages at the rear.

The three blocks of Johnson Street from White Street Reynolds Street might just be the most expensive stretch in all of Key West.  If you think I am appealing to the snob, I am. People who spend a lot of money on a home want to make sure that the surrounding homes are equally valuable. They are in this area. A new owner might want to join the Casa Marina Club where you could use the gym, spa services, private beach, and get a discount on all food and beverage at the hotel.

Hi Gary,

Love your blog. My guess is when a house this expensive goes under contract so quickly it speaks to the good things yet to come in real estate down there! Your thoughts??

We closed on 64 Front Street last week - $2.3 million.

510 Margaret ($1.6_
and
627 Southard (nearly $2.) went under contract this past week as well.

The market is back.

Gary Thomas in a Nutshell

I first read about Key West in a magazine called "After Dark" sometime in the mid 1970's. But it wasn't until March 1984 that I made my first visit to the island that would become my home. I had two weeks for a vacation and reserved a room at Colours Guesthouse (now Marrero's Guest House) for one week. I thought that if I didn't like Key West, I could always go back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale for the rest of my trip. But after a couple of days in Key West, that was no longer a consideration. But when I wanted to extend my stay for the extra week I found there was no room at the inn. The guesthouse owner did find me a room at LaTeDa, the infamous guesthouse/restaurant. That's a story I'll write another day. But those two weeks in Key West gave me the realization that I had found Paradise. Key West has been my home since 1993 and my only regret is that it took me so long to get here. I am a full time Realtor at Preferred Properties CRI.
