2601 South Roosevelt Blvd. #314C, Key West By the Sea

2601 South Roosevelt Blvd #314C is a newly listed third floor three bedroom condo at Key West By the Sea which would be a great place to build a little love nest. This 1221 sq ft home has been updated with a new kitchen and two baths. The place is as clean as a whistle and is move-in ready. Once the boxes are unpacked, you will have to decide whether to swim in the lap pool at the front of the property or the larger pool at the rear. Or perhaps you will have to play tennis before swimming. Or then you might want to walk directly across the street to Smathers Beach where you can swim in the ocean. The thing is you won't need to paint or fix anything.
When you enter this unit your eyes are drawn through the living room and out to the sunny southern views toward the ocean. Of course you will see the newly updated kitchen to the left and then take note of the built-in bookcase and media center in the living room. The master suite is located to the left and two guest bedrooms are located to the right.
The new kitchen is simply elegant and very functional. Count the number, size, and location of drawers. Some kitchens have way too few drawers. That's not the case here. Plus there is a lot of cabinet storage both up and down. The wine center is located adjacent to the kitchen door. A stainless steel farm sink compliments the major appliances.
The two guest bedrooms are quite spacious. Both have abundant closet space.  A washer and dryer hook-up are located in the closet of the front (yellow) bedroom. These bedrooms share the bath located between the two bedrooms and just off the open living area. While both the guest and master baths were renovated to add new fixtures, cabinetry, and tiles, the ceilings were extended upwards when the new conditioning was added.
The master suite includes a walk-in closet and a spacious bath. Having the separation from the guest bedrooms opposite the living room provides privacy for the owner whether it be a couple or a single person. CLICK HERE to view more photos I took of this unit and the complex.
Key West By the Sea is a professionally managed condominium association. Monthly condo fees for this unit are $522.33 and include cable tv, exterminating, building maintenance, building insurances, common area and pool maintenance, security, and management. Pets are permitted. There is on site laundry as not all units have a washer and dryer in the unit. 314C does not have a washer and dryer. The association is strong. Some of the owners here have lived at this development for decades. The rules and the way the place is managed reflect the values that have kept KWBS stable throughout the years. While owners may rent their units, they may not rent them until after one year of ownership and then the rental must be over 90 days. This has prevented the community from be destabilized by turning the condos into a resort like hotel. Don't get me wrong, it is already almost like a resort. There are two large pools and a tennis court. The spacious common areas include garden spots populated by living orchids and babbling water features. While it might look like a resort, it functions like a well maintained community.
There is a whole other world of people who arise early in the morning to run before the day gets too hot or to take FIDO or Patrice out for a walk. I snapped a couple of pics of the spectacular sunrise that occurs daily on Smathers Beach across from Key West By the Sea. As I aimed my camera to the south I noticed a figure swimming in the water. This is why so many people move to Key West - to be able to live this healthy lifestyle and experience the joys of this earth during the few years we have here. While we do get our rainy days, we have many more days like today where the sky is a kaleidoscope of colors.

Gary Thomas in a Nutshell

My photo
Key West, Florida, United States
I first read about Key West in a magazine called "After Dark" sometime in the mid 1970's. But it wasn't until March 1984 that I made my first visit to the island that would become my home. I had two weeks for a vacation and reserved a room at Colours Guesthouse (now Marrero's Guest House) for one week. I thought that if I didn't like Key West, I could always go back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale for the rest of my trip. But after a couple of days in Key West, that was no longer a consideration. But when I wanted to extend my stay for the extra week I found there was no room at the inn. The guesthouse owner did find me a room at LaTeDa, the infamous guesthouse/restaurant. That's a story I'll write another day. But those two weeks in Key West gave me the realization that I had found Paradise. Key West has been my home since 1993 and my only regret is that it took me so long to get here. I am a full time Realtor at Preferred Properties CRI. Let me help you find your new home or business in Paradise. Living in Paradise is not a slogan, it's a way of life.
