For most of us fortunate enough to live in Key West year around, we live life in the slow lane every day. We don't have skyscrapers. We don't have big stores with escalators. There are no Interstate Highways. Our rush hour usually lasts five minutes or so. Many of us transplants have learned to live with less and certainly feel the need to buy less. We are not deprived, but we are content. Our lives are simpler than before. No matter our religious beliefs or our political persuasion, most of us subscribe to the notion of One Human Family. For Key Westers who actually live on a lane, life is more slow and much more quiet.

1110 Curry Lane is an ideal example of the perfect cottage located on a quiet little lane in Old Town Key West. This Old Town gem is tucked away on one of Key West's slow lanes between Frances and White Streets. The cottage has been lovingly restored to maintain the character you would expect in a custom restoration.

Preferred Properties CRI is hosting an Open House on Saturday between 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. Stop by 416 Elizabeth Street and 712 Southard Street and 1110 Curry Lane to view four beautiful Conch homes with great Old Town locations.

416 Elizabeth Street is a rather unassuming property consisting of two houses and one cottage with six en suite bedrooms and seven baths. Built circa 1873, the historic main house features a peerless restoration, with details such as polished hardwood floors, with the original windows and doors restored. A veranda overlooking the swimming pool and lush grounds is carefully built around an ancient Spanish lime tree. A galley kitchen includes stainless-steel counter tops and appliances and custom cabinets. This historic gem is a classic example of the casual, yet elegant, indoor and outdoor living lifestyle for which Key West is famous. Thomas McGuane, known for his "92 in the Shade" and "Panama", resided at 416 Elizabeth St. CLICK HERE for more photos and info on this elegant property.

712 Southard Street is a beautifully appointed shotgun style Conch Cottage on the best block in Key West. The house has two nice size bedrooms and bathrooms, a great new kitchen with cathedral ceiling that opens onto the glass tiled kidney shaped heated pool surrounded by tropical landscaping. And it is located only two blocks from world famous Duval Street. CLICK HERE for more info and photos of 712 Southard Street.

804 Elizabeth Street is a classic Eyebrow house with sawtooth additions has two driveways. It has been recently renovated with new kitchen, baths, ac/heating systems, and upgraded plumbing and electrical systems. The ceilings have been vaulted in the dining room and den and there is a new heated swimming pool. And there are two off street parking spots. CLICK HERE for more info and photos of this beautiful home.

1110 Curry Lane is located on one of Key West's hidden lanes between Fleming and Southard Streets and sandwiched between White and Frances Streets. The lane is only one block long and it has several ultra sweet homes like this one.

Please join me, Gary Thomas, at 712 Southard Street and my fellow Realtors at 416 Elizabeth Street to view both of these charming Key West homes just before the sun sets and the evening begins. You will get a chance to see how wonderful life can be in your own Key West Conch House, whether it is a cottage or a great house.

1110 Curry Lane Old Town Key West

Right after I started this blog about Key West Properties I wrote a piece called Life in the Slow Lane CLICK HERE to read. I mused about the virtues of living on one of the slow lanes in Old Town Key West.

This Old Town gem is tucked away on one of Key West's slow lanes between Frances and White Streets. The cottage has been lovingly restored to maintain all the character and charm you'd expect to find such as Dade County Pine walls, Georgia Heart Pine floors and thoughtful attention to detail. The floor plan is open and spacious and offers indoor/outdoor living amid tropical privacy. There are two bedrooms and two full baths plus a chef friendly kitchen with soapstone counter-tops and Viking stainless steel appliances. Enjoy the outdoor shower and lounge beside the river rock lagoon pool. Relax on the front porch with a cool beverage and a good book. Off-street parking for one small car.

1110 Curry Lane is offered at the price of $999,500 or $828 per sq ft for this 1207 sq ft treasure that sits on a 2321 sq ft lot. If you bought this house you could walk to Duval within 5-7 minutes. Same for the Historic Seaport. Or your job if you have one and it is located in Old Town. There are two convenience stores within a two minute walk as well. But neither you nor your friends would know how convenient this house is because it is tucked away so nicely. You won't hear the noise of Harleys roaring down your street, because their drivers don't have a clue that Curry Lane exists. Even your creditors will have difficulty finding you. You see, life on a slow lane isn't bad at all.
