Key West Waterfront Condo - 833 Eisenhower Drive #203

If you have not noticed it yet, prices are on the rise and the number of available properties available for sale are on the wane.  Old Town is still the area most in demand. Cute little cigar maker cottages, would-be fixers, and even Grand Conch houses are the properties potential buyers seek the most often. Shipyard Condominiums is most popular property for first time home buyers in Key West because of the price, location, and ability to rent on a limited transient basis.


Today I am writing once again about a property that is priced similarly to what you might pay for a much smaller unit at Shipyard Condominiums.  833 Eisenhower Drive #203 which is a lovely two bedroom two bath 1351 sq ft condominium that overlooks the Garrison Bight.  This unit also comes with a boat slip. The asking price has been reduced to $599,000 or $443 per sq ft.

The listing agent at Preferred Properties (that's where I work but this is not my listing) describes this unit like this:

Harbor Lodge Condominiums was built in 1990. There are just three units per floor and there are only three floors. All units have assigned covered parking and an extra large storage room. The storage room is large enough to store motor scooters, bikes, kayaks, and other outdoor sports equipment. Transient rentals are not permitted at this property. Owners may rent on a month to month basis or annual basis, however.



Daytime or nighttime, there is always something interesting to watch when you own a waterfront home.


Unit 203 has an updated kitchen, plantation shutters, and is in pristine condition. The owners have maintained this home and a new owner will need only bring a toothbrush. This building was built in 1990 so I couldn't did into my old shoebox to find any before pics of the property. However, I did find one of the neighborhood. Look just below at the aerial photo taken way back in 1918. I noted where 833 Eisenhower Drive now sits.


Nearly a hundred years later the "water front" has been infilled quite a bit including the 833 Eisenhower property but other parcels on the water's edge as well. Unit #203 is located on the south side of this three story building. It has nice views of the Garrison Bight and the pool below. At night you can see the little boats bobbing up and down in the water and the city lights twinkling in the background. 

Day or night you can enjoy the comforts of the spacious unit with renovated kitchen. During the daytime you can bask by the pool or take a ride in your boat. Remember, this unit comes with its own boatslip.


The Harbor Lodge Condominiums have just nine units, only three per floor. No short term rentals are allowed so you will not be having changing neighbors every week.  The building has stability and a strong condo association. I Saw the Harbor Lights (833 Eisenhower Drive - Key West)

If you bought the two bedroom two bath condominium listed by Preferred Properties Coastal Realty at Harbor Lodge you could watch the dawn rise in the morning and see the harbor lights at night from your balcony overlooking the Garrison Bight in Old Town Key West.

You could walk down to your own personal boat slip and go out to deep water within minutes of leaving your home. You could be fishing or or talking trash to friends and enjoying the waters of the beautiful Florida Keys.

I have previously written that I used to own a guest house in Key West. I'll never forget the phone call I received when a potential guest asked if Key West was surrounded by water. Yes, it is. Surprisingly, however, there are not that many homes with waterfront views here. More rare are homes in or near Old Town with waterfront views. Those that do exist normally sell at a premium over other properties.

Unit #2 at Harbor Lodge Condominium (located at 833 Eisenhower Drive) is a wonderful two bedroom unit overlooking the Garrison Bight and within walking distance to downtown Key West. The building is very well maintained and has only three units per floor. The condo association does not permit vacation rentals and most of the units are owner occupied. The condo association is very healthy and has not been beset by foreclosures and short sales. Best of all, this unit has a private boat slip included in the purchase price.
