701 Elizabeth Street #1 , Key West - An Apartment to Rent

It's end of season in Key West. Some folks have left town to find fame and fortune in northern towns and territories. Others folks are heading down to Key West to do the same thing. Some people succeed, others do not. That is life. I was in Miami a couple of weeks ago. I cannot imagine why any sane person would want to live there, but I cannot imagine living in any big city after having lived in Key West for the past 23 years.
701 Elizabeth Street #1 is located at the top of Solaris Hill in Old Town Key West. This three story one bedroom apartment has stunning views looking south, west, and north. You'll see the glorious Key West sunsets every night. And in the morning you can drink your coffee and eat your breakfast on the private front porch with birds chirping.

A three story tall spiral staircase greets guests when they arrive at the front entry. The living room, dining area, and kitchen are located on this level. The unit is offered furnished as shown and the furniture cannot be removed.
The second floor is where all the business is done. This floor includes the bathroom, laundry room, and closet.  These are all vital functions and are easily accessible from living room and bedroom.
CLICK HERE to view the Key West MLS datasheet on 701 Elizabeth Street #1 offered at $2,600.00 per month on an annual lease. Tenant pays all electric, water, propane, television/internet. No cats permitted. A small dog may be considered. First, last, and security deposit required at time of lease signing.

  1. Tiny apartment at top of three sets of stairs for $2600 monthly? 1st month, last month, plus security deposit. Ridiculous

  2. What is actually rediculous is that in any other city in America, that same apartment would be well North of $3,000.00 per month. In Miami it would be at least $3,500 per month. A couple could easily live in this apartment and it is renovated to the maximum. That apartment is beautiful and there are many people in Key West making enough money to afford such a nice place. I’m sick and tire of hearing about how people cannot afford to live in Key West and how there is no affordable housing. It is simply not true. There are plenty of reasonably priced apartments in town and this apartment is so much nicer than most. Just take a look at how much the cookie cutter community apartments are renting for in Fort Lauderdale and Miami and you will see that Key West rental apartments are not overpriced. Don’t believe the hype!

  3. I think paying a dollar for an onion is high. I think paying three dollars for a head of lettuce is ridiculous, but that is what our local hometown grocery (Fausto's) charges.

When I was in law school in the early 1970s, I paid $13 a month for a clean studio apartment with a pool. A one bedroom would have cost $150. I could buy six donuts from the grocery for thirty cents and an apple pie at Volmer's Bakery for a dollar. Forty years later those prices would increase a thousand per cent.

I don't think the asking price is high for someone looking for the location and amenities and also having a great landlord offers. Many can't afford this price, but this apartment is not an ordinary place to live. It is extraordinary.

  4. Every single whining local cries about rent. If you can't afford it leave. Pretty easy fix. The price is exactly on point.

  5. 2600$ monthly for the privilege to rent this minuscule apartment. What a joke! We need another real estate correction. Any used car salesman, OOPS, I meant REALTOR will tell you price is "ON POINT"....

  6. I believe it’s been rented and there were multiple offers. So it was priced on point if not just a tad low- a great bargain for a cute place to call home.

  7. There you go cheap locals who want the world on a platter for nothing because your parents raised you here. Looks like the market has spoken.
