1420 Whalton Street In September 2019. It is large corner lot located in the highly sought after Casa Marina Area. The Mid-century house had its benefits and flaws, but most of all it had the desirable location. 1420 Whalton St sold in March 2020 for $1,182,747 or $277 per sq ft. Three days ago bulldozers and dump trucks descended upon the site to raze the house. The story is the new owner purchased the property to prevent the lot from being over-developed with some monstrous contemporary home.
It will be interesting to see what the new owner does build. Stay tuned.

Hi Gary, I suspect your sale price per sq ft is not accurate? At $277 the house torn down would have been huge. I do not believe it was particularly large.
The price Gary quoted was price per square foot on the land, not the home.
Dear Both, I should have made the price referred to the land and not the house as the house ultimately had no value.
We have a nearby listing that I will blog about next week. It is roughly priced at what this tear down sold and it is a great property. People love the Casa Marina.
