807 Washington Street #101, Key West Florida

Just Listed: 807 Washington Street #101, Key West Florida. I have sold four units in this nine unit town home development located in the tony Casa Marina Area of Key West. I live in the area and love it. We are close to just about everything but far enough removed not to be in all the hullabaloo associated with this destination island.
The listing Realtor describes this 2240 sq ft end unit that was built for the developer this way:
"A rare corner unit with many windows. Kitchen consists of custom granite counter tops and Viking appliances. French doors lead to a private, heated splash pool. Second floor consists of 2 en-suite masters with balconies and laundry area. Spacious 3rd floor with full bath that could convert to a large family or additional sleeping space. Located in the Casa Marina. 2 off St. parking spaces."

These homes have the look of a traditional grand conch home you would expect in Old Town but all the convenience of a a large modern day home. The unit has first and second floor covered porches on front and back. Inside the front door there is a charming vestibule. As you enter you will immediately see the rear porch and pool beyond. But before you go there, you'll probably take a quick look at the beautiful kitchen with Viking appliances. There is a first floor powder room located under the staircase. Note also the tall ceilings, crown molding, high baseboards, and decorative wood trim. Two sets of French doors open out to the covered rear porch.
This unit is located on the far west side of the nine unit development. The lot is the largest of all and has the the western sunshine adding light to the interiors and the rear garden and pool. While the yard looks just fine as is, it could be so much more. This unit has been a long term rental for some time. I can imagine how much greater it could look if a new owner dolled it up a bit. A little fairy dust never hurt any place.
The master bedroom is located on the back side of the second floor. The vaulted ceiling gives this room a dramatic aura, but it is the covered rear balcony that makes the space so special. This is the perfect perch for watching our wonderful sunsets without enduring the circus of Mallory Square and hundreds of tourists taking drunken selfies. Instead, you can enjoy a glass of wine with your loved one and appreciate all that you have achieved in life.
The second floor hallway provides access to the master and front guest bedroom, the hidden laundry, and stairway to the third floor bed and bath which runs the length and breadth of the house. The third floor is currently under-utilized. This is a wonderful space that would make a great room for the grand kids. It has an en-suite bath as well. CLICK HERE to view more photos of this unit.

Gary Thomas in a Nutshell

My photo
Key West, Florida, United States
I first read about Key West in a magazine called "After Dark" sometime in the mid 1970's. But it wasn't until March 1984 that I made my first visit to the island that would become my home. I had two weeks for a vacation and reserved a room at Colours Guesthouse (now Marrero's Guest House) for one week. I thought that if I didn't like Key West, I could always go back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale for the rest of my trip. But after a couple of days in Key West, that was no longer a consideration. But when I wanted to extend my stay for the extra week I found there was no room at the inn. The guesthouse owner did find me a room at LaTeDa, the infamous guesthouse/restaurant. That's a story I'll write another day. But those two weeks in Key West gave me the realization that I had found Paradise. Key West has been my home since 1993 and my only regret is that it took me so long to get here. I am a full time Realtor at Preferred Properties CRI. Let me help you find your new home or business in Paradise. Living in Paradise is not a slogan, it's a way of life.
