Great property. Until City of Key West takes away the transient license in next couple years....
Listing and Showing Agents disclose the current licensing and the potential loss of the licenses. i do not think the licenses will go away because the city would lose a huge amount of tax revenue. I also believe the state is going to permit transient licensing everywhere so city licensing will become moot.
Gary
City lost last court battle. Their not gonna lose next time. The history of shipyard was not supposed to be a “Tony” neighborhood. Why do you think there’s this many units going up for sale? Be honest with your readers!

The history of Shipyard has been it is hits all the sweet spots new buyers into the Key West market require - if becomes doable because it can generate enough income to offset the owner contribution affordable. Renters love the location and return year after year.Owners use it other times.
A lot. LOT - of good people have made a huge amount of income and real money on resale of these units. Neither you nor I know for sure what the city will do when it comes time to address the re-licensing. The concept of Air B and B has created pressure on the state to make all housing rentable on a transient basis. Don't imply I am hiding something from potential buyers. Because I am not. The future is what the future is whatever it is.
Gary, are you suggesting that the state of Florida may permit any property to be transient licensed, effectively leveling the playing field for all property owners?
It has been discussed in Tallahassee. The state overrode local tree boards two years ago. I think the discussion of transient rentals may play out the same way - limit local control to enforcement of state law. Cities and non-elected boards or commissions have created headaches both property owners and elected officials.
I am not sure I want anybody who wants to be able to rent a house or condo on a transient basis. Especially here where we already have a housing shortage. Tourists will still stay where they want - close to Duval or the beaches. COPY AND PASTER >>>>
