Over the years I have posted photos of various locals and tourists who get arrested and held in the Monroe County Jail. I am not doing that today but will soon. I am, however, reporting on one guy who got busted on 18 Felony and 45 Misdemeanor charges for reportedly not paying sales and transient rental taxes on three homes he owns in Key West.
A couple of days ago I was going through the mugshots and saw the photo of the guy who looked normal (as opposed to some of the zoned-out or beat-up people I have previously posted). Then I looked at his profile. Accountant - but not in Key West - in another city. But with a local address in Key West - in Truman Annex - at a house I showed a couple of weeks ago that is for sale for a whole lot of money. HMMM.
I did some more digging. I found other properties this guy owns or owned. I had shown a waterfront condominium he owned in Truman Annex. It had incredible ocean views.
The bottom section of the mugshot for this guy shows the charges and arraignment date. I may show up to see if he shows up and wonder what may happen to him. Look carefully. This is no joke.

Several years ago a local real estate broker got busted for doing something sort of similar. Every time I showed one of his listings he would be incredibly suspicious of every question I asked as if he was the target of another undercover police squad investigation for illegal rentals.

Failed to mention Key West realtor that got caught with numerous handguns, AK, multiple rounds of ammo. Trying to sell to an undercover. Yeah, I put faith in him, even give him a lockbox key to one of our properties. Don’t wanna rearrange the true blue realtor following? Huckster, caught and sentenced!

Today's blog (now yesterday) is about a guy who allegedly got caught flaunting the law. It will be interest to see if he shows up for arraignment on April Fools Dar (April 1 at the bottom of the blog). We will see how the judge deals with the defendant - pretrial. If he fails to show up I expect a bench warrant will be issued for his arrest and that he will be picked up. If does show up I would expect the judge to caution him to attend all court hearings and proceedings.
